An underwhelming performance of Congress party in the recent Bihar assembly polls has had repercussions on politics in distant Karnataka, as the promised resolution of the power tussle between two party stalwarts, Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar, appears to have been put on a temporary hold.
With the ‘30:30’ month power-sharing formula reportedly agreed to between Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy Shivakumar at the time of government formation in May 2023 nearing its implementation, the Congress high command had tentatively assured the two rivals that it would be taken up after the Bihar election results on November 14.
