After reaching the 2024 Basketball Champions League Final with Lenovo Tenerife — and finishing as the BCL’s top scorer — Kyle Guy surprisingly announced his retirement and a transition into coaching.
He joined the University of Virginia staff as an assistant, but fast-forward to the autumn of 2025, and Guy is back on the court. His outstanding NBA G League performances have now earned him a call-up to the USA national team for the November 2027 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
The call came shortly after he delivered 32 points and 10 assists, shooting 8/14 from three, in the Noblesville Boom’s loss to the Iowa Wolves . That performance, along with his consistent production this season, secured his place on the 12-man roster set to face Nicaragua — first in Managua and then in College Park,
