India scored a major breakthrough in its fight against organised crime as Anmol Bishnoi, brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was extradited from the United States and landed in Delhi.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took immediate custody of Anmol, who has over 20 criminal cases registered against him and has been absconding since 2022. Following a medical examination and court remand, his custody will be transferred to Delhi Police for an extortion case involving a businessman in RK Puram.
Mumbai Police, Punjab Police, and Rajasthan Police have also lined up requests for his custody. He is accused of orchestrating the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, involvement in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, and multiple FIRs in Rajasthan.
