WASHINGTON —
President Donald Trump is pressuring state legislatures to redraw congressional maps in an effort to keep Republican control of the House of Representatives, but these efforts are hitting roadblocks as disputes move from state capitols to the courts.
Several states, including California , Missouri , North Carolina , Ohio , Texas and Utah, may see voters in new congressional districts next year.
Many states are either in the process of redrawing districts or considering doing so. In some cases, states with new maps are being dragged to court to throw them out.
California voters approved Proposition 50. It's an amendment aimed to change the congressional districts in the state to give Democrats a chance to win five more seats in the U.S. House in next year's midterm
