‘He said, just work, do whatever you want’: Smriti Irani recalls how she got married to Zubin Irani in a parking lot; why simple beginnings often lead to stronger bonds

Recently, actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani shared the surprisingly straightforward story behind her marriage to businessman Zubin Irani.

Speaking in a candid interview with Mashable India , Smriti revealed that before tying the knot, she had one clear condition. She said, “Zubin is someone I had known for many years. So he asked, ‘What’s the issue?’ I said, ‘The issue is that I want to work.’ He said, ‘I’m okay with you working.’ So I gave him that look — ‘Oh, you’re giving me permission?’ He said, ‘ Arey yaar , just work. Do whatever you want’. I said yes. I need to work. He’s like done. It was literally a handshake
