Ernakulam : Construction of the Nedumbassery railway station is set to begin in December, with a team of officials conducting a site inspection ahead of the launch. A group of senior railway officers, led by Chief Project Manager Kannan and Deputy Chief Engineer Marimuthu, visited the location on Tuesday to assess whether the site has adequate space for the station building and related facilities.

Plans include building a station, a foot overbridge, an air-conditioned waiting hall, a ticket counter and a lift. Each department has been directed to prepare and submit sub-estimates, which will be reviewed before a final project estimate is finalised.
