The Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the Delhi Government to prevent school children from participating in outdoor sports during the heavily polluted winter months from November to January.

Justice Sachin Datta, addressing a plea by minor students, emphasised that authorities were not adequately protecting children’s health and must revise the annual sports calendar to avoid outdoor events during these hazardous months, reported ANI.

“You can’t call children to damage their lungs. You must change your calendar accordingly," the court stated.
