Known for his last-over heroics in T20s, the dynamic Rinku Singh showcased his prowess in the longer format on Wednesday with a career-best 176, helping Uttar Pradesh secure a crucial first-innings lead against Tamil Nadu in their Ranji Trophy match.

The Group A encounter ended in a draw on the fourth and final day, with Uttar Pradesh earning three points after posting 460 all out in response to Tamil Nadu’s 455. The home team gained one point from the game.

Uttar Pradesh’s narrow five-run lead was primarily due to Rinku’s innings and valuable contributions from the lower-order batsmen, including Shivam Mavi’s 54.

Rinku hit 17 fours and six sixes during his stay at the crease. He was batting on 98 at stumps on the third evening and faced a total of 247 balls over two days.
