More than 66 people were injured, among them 16 children, after two nine-storey residential buildings were severely damaged, one engulfed in flames and the other with its upper floors torn away.
Rescue teams continued evacuations through the morning, with officials warning that more residents may still be trapped beneath the rubble. Local authorities also reported that air pollution levels in Ternopil had risen to six times the normal level following the strikes.
