WYOMING, Mich. — A late-night food run turned into a late-night lottery win for a Kent County woman.
The player bought a few lottery tickets, including a Michigan Lottery Lady Luck 777 instant game, at the D 28 Inc. store, located at 5 28th Street Southwest in Wyoming. She scratched it, revealing a $1 million prize.
“I woke up hungry late one night, so I went out on a food run,” said the 53-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous. “I had a hard time going back to sleep that night!”
The woman chose to receive a one-time lump sum payment of $693,000. She says she plans to save her winnings.
“I’m still in shock and it hasn’t fully sunk in that I won $1 million, so I haven’t made any specials plans for the money just yet,” the player said.
Last year, players won nearly $1.8 billion
