U.S. authorities are expected to announce charges against a number of Canadians at a press conference on Wednesday in connection to a transnational drug trafficking operation allegedly led by ex-Olympic snowboarder and fugitive Ryan Wedding .
The joint news conference with the RCMP will take place in the U.S. Department of Justice headquarters in Washington, D.C., beginning at 11 a.m. It’s set to include announcements by multiple law enforcement leaders, including U.S. Attorney Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel and RCMP Commissioner Mike Duhem.
Authorities have been tight-lipped about the details, saying only that it’s related to “significant enforcement actions against an international criminal organization.”
