LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The holidays arrive in downtown Louisville on Wednesday.
The city had its Christmas tree cut down for Light Up Louisville.
This year's tree, a Norway spruce, was donated by a south Louisville resident. The spruce is 31 feet tall, about nine feet shorter than last year's.

It has already been cut down, with help from Bob Ray Co. Inc., and was taken to Jefferson Square Park.
There, it will be decorated for Light Up Louisville which is Saturday, Dec. 6.
Typically, Santa arrives around 8 p.m., and the tree lighting is right after. The event will be emceed by Rick Van Hoose.
