YADGIR: A man impregnated his minor sister-in-law and fled after the issue came to light in Kembhavi police limits in Yadgir district. The police are now on the lookout for the accused.

The pregnancy came to light when the minor girl, who is the younger sister of the accused’s wife, was taken to a hospital for a medical checkup. Tests revealed that the minor is now two months pregnant and has been admitted to a hospital.

Child rights commission Shashidhar Kosumbe said, “The accused impregnated his minor sister-in-law after sexually assaulting her. The commission has taken serious note of increase in the number of such cases in the district. The commission has also directed the CDPO to register a case and rescue the victim”.
