Idon’t know that I’ve ever seen the actor Cillian Murphy in a show or film, but I do know that I 100% relate to a quote I saw recently that’s been attributed to him.

“I love being at home. My life is very simple. I read a lot of books. I watch a lot of films. I listen to a lot of music. I walk the dog. I cook with my family. Yeah, I’m boring.”

I felt this deeply.

I wonder if this means I too am, in fact, boring? These days, my former FOMO (fear of missing out) has morphed into something more like JOMO (joy of missing out.) I love to be at home, with my kiddo and pets, just doing at home things — reading a book, cooking a meal, watching a film, taking a walk. The thing is, I don’t think of any of these as boring. I think society has just come to idealize a lifestyle that seems to involve
