Widespread rain and thunderstorms are on the way. The highest rain coverage will arrive tonight and continue into Thursday.

While the overall severe weather threat is low, a few storms may contain large hail and damaging winds. The Storm Prediction Center has our area included in a level 1 risk tonight into early Thursday.

Some of the rain will be heavy at times. Upwards of 1-3 inches of rain is expected, with isolated higher amounts possible. The flooding threat will increase on Thursday.

Overall, this rain will be a welcome sight. Drought conditions have expanded across much of North Texas, with less than .10″ of rain so far this month.
