The Palm Springs Planning Commission has approved an 82-unit affordable housing complex for the north side of the city, bringing yet another option to the city for low-income renters.

Commissioners unanimously backed the project off West San Rafael Drive, which is planned for a lot that's currently empty.

Although commissioners haggled over some details of the proposal, it never seemed at risk of rejection during the meeting Tuesday, Nov. 18, despite some objections from nearby residents.
