Beta test: An Ohio Senate committee on Tuesday advanced a bill that would standardize kindergarten cutoff dates, with an amendment for high schoolers who took last year’s state biology test. The bill could be on the floor as soon as Wednesday. Children could begin kindergarten when they turn 5 by the first day of school. And high students who took last year’s state biology test would be held harmless on a question, due to a scoring error, Laura Hancock reports .
