Roger Federer was elected to the International Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2026, the Rhode Island-based organization announced Wednesday.
Federer, 44, was the first male tennis player to win 20 major singles titles. He is also one of eight men in tennis history to achieve a career Grand Slam – winning the four majors in a calendar year – in singles. He won eight titles at Wimbledon, six at the Australian Open, five at the U.S. Open and one at the French Open.
Perhaps most impressively, Federer was No. 1 in the ATP rankings for 237 consecutive weeks from February 2004 to August 2008. He also was named the ATP Fans’ Favourite for 19 consecutive years from 2003-21.
