it's Wednesday morning and the city centre is populated with hordes of commuters rushing to get indoors and avoid the bitterly cold Manchester wind. This week saw the Met Office issue a severe weather warning across large parts of the UK thanks to an Arctic blast that has caused temperatures to drastically fall.

It means that for the first time in months, the weather forecast is likely to drop below zero, leaving many of the homeless people in Manchester extremely vulnerable. Jason, 50 and Mark, 48, spent the night in a doorway of a closed shop on the outskirts of the city centre.
