Is Mar-a-Lago the new Pink Pony Club? It seems that way for Keith Urban.
The Australian country music star, 58, reportedly performed a cover of the Chappell Roan hit "Pink Pony Club" during a private event held at the Palm Beach, Florida, resort, which is owned by President Donald Trump.
According to social media footage from the event, shared by Florida realtor Tali Israel in a Nov. 16 Instagram post, Urban strummed on an acoustic guitar as he belted his rendition of the dance-pop banger, which Roan originally wrote about finding emotional refuge in LGBTQ nightlife.
USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Urban, Mar-a-Lago, Pratt and Roan for comment.
Per Israel's post, the event was a private holiday party hosted by Australian businessman and billionaire Anthony Pratt. Pratt reportedly donated $10 million to Trump's 2024 election campaign and pledged $5 billion in April to invest in the president's "call to reindustrialize" the U.S.
Trump was spotted attending the party alongside Pratt, as seen in additional footage from Israel's post.
Keith Urban divides fans with Mar-a-Lago performance
Urban may have kept the party going at Mar-a-Lago, but the singer's performance and association with President Trump was a head-scratcher for many fans online, some of whom criticized Urban.
"I think you missed the point of Pink Pony Club," @jacq_justice wrote.
"What on Earth is Keith doing there!" @diburge5 commented.
"Totally done with Keith Urban, all time LOW!!!" @bevrubner wrote. "I'm deleting all music."
Other users defended the singer, with some questioning the political significance of Urban appearing at the Trump-endorsed event.
"Keith Urban low-key trolled the MAGA crowd at Mar-a-Lago by playing Pink Pony Club without most of them realizing they got trolled," @atownandrew wrote. "Take that paycheck Keith Urban!"
