ROCKFORD, Ill. — Rockford passed an annual inclusivity index with flying colors for the fourth straight year.
The City of Rockford scored 100/100 on the Human Rights Campaign's annual Municipal Equality Index (MEI) scorecard. The MEI looks at cities' laws, policies, and services and rates them on how inclusive they are of LGBTQ+ people who live and work in those cities.
Rockford has participated in the MEI since 2018 and has improved by 41 points. In 2025, the City scored 100/100 for the fourth straight year.
Mayor Tom McNamara said the city was proud of the achievement.
