TEXAS — Waymo announced its plans to expand services across the Lone Star State with driverless cars soon hitting the streets of three major Texas cities.
The commercial robotaxi company currently operates in five cities nationwide including Austin via Uber’s rideshare app. However, the company aims to expand its reach, bringing services to Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Miami and Orlando in the coming weeks.
Waymo had previously announced its plans to launch its robotaxi service in Dallas, however on Tuesday, the company added Houston and San Antonio to the lineup.
Test drivers have already been spotted on drives around Dallas in the past months checking the technology, learning local driving behavior and mapping roads. The company additionally began testing 10 of its vehicles in San An
