A London whisky specialist is helping fight transphobia in the UK with a new limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky.
Independent bottler Milroy’s of Soho announced that 100 per cent of the profits from the new dram, appropriately called For the Dolls, would be donated to trans charity Not A Phase .
The 13-year-old single malt, which is available from Wednesday (19 November), will raise “vital funds” for the charity as well as highlighting the challenges faced by transgender people in the UK.
Freelance whisky writer Kristiane Westray, who joined with the 60-year-old bottler to create For the Dolls, said the campaign particularly focuses on the effect of the recent UK Supreme Court ruling which deemed the 2010 Equality Act’s definition of a woman referred to “ biological sex ” only.
