LAMAR, Ark. — According to the Lamar School District, a teacher resigned on Nov. 11 after an investigation into their contact with a student over social media.

In a statement released on Nov. 10, the district said it began looking into the use of social media "as a source of contact between a teacher and a student."

State agencies were alerted, and the teacher resigned the next day, the district said.

Further information was not immediately given by school officials, who referred to the incident as a personnel matter.
