WROTB adds construction of event center to study to expand The Hotel at Batavia Downs

BATAVIA — Seizing upon “a window of opportunity,” Western Regional Off-Track Betting Corp. directors on Wednesday morning approved reconnecting with a Horsham, Pa.-based gaming consultant to explore a hotel expansion and event center construction at Batavia Downs Gaming.

The board voted in favor of a change order of a 2024 contract with Spectrum Gaming Group for a market analysis to determine the feasibility of adding rooms to The Hotel at Batavia Downs in conjunction with building a multipurpose event center. The cost of the market study, per the resolution, would not exceed $39,500.
