RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Before you hit the roads for Thanksgiving next Thursday, first responders are working to make sure your kids are safe.
Richmond Ambulance Authority is teaming up with AAA and Drive Smart Virginia to offer free car seat safety checks ahead of the holiday weekend.
AAA is projecting 73 million Americans will travel by car for Thanksgiving this year, marking a record number of holiday travelers. That includes the 1.9 million hitting the roads in Virginia.
Safety technicians will be on site at the following locations this week:
Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the Target at 7107 Forest Hill Avenue from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Walmart Supercenter at 2410 Sheila Lane from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
