BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — The family of an Upshur County man, Andrew Devon Hitt, who was released to home confinement after pleading to a felony terroristic threat charge, announced Wednesday they plan to relocate their residence to address community safety concerns.

Hitt, 25, was released to home incarceration on a signature bond on Nov. 4 after entering a plea to felony terroristic threats as part of a deferred adjudication agreement, according to court records. He lives close to Hodgesville Elementary School.

Upshur County school officials implemented increased security measures following his release. Upshur County Sheriff Michael Coffman also assigned a full-time deputy to the school until after the Christmas break.
