Oklahoma County commissioners have appointed retired medical sales executive Brad Hawley, with a 2-1 vote, to the trust that oversees the county jail.
Hawley replaces attorney Shelly Perkins, a Bethany attorney and former Oklahoma assistant attorney general, who resigned on Nov. 3 after serving 19 months.
As some critics call the nine-member jail trust a "revolving door," Hawley's appointment was approved despite two county commissioners saying they knew nothing about the latest nominee.
