In the wake of a major announcement that Stratford Transit will, after Dec. 1, no longer be offering stops at Food Basics and Zehrs, its director is clarifying what went into that decision.
On Monday, the city announced on its Facebook page that Stratford buses will no longer make a stop on the property after an owner request due to an expansion at the plaza. City officials also cited safety concerns and, in a later update, said it will not be possible for the bus to travel through the laneway between Zehrs and the plaza due it becoming too narrow during and after construction.
