PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Crossland High School junior Madison Lumpkin has dreams of being a mechanical engineer, and a new program is coming to help him and other students get a head start on their dreams.
A partnership with Prince George's Community College will bring tuition-free college courses into all 25 public high schools in the county by next year, Prince George's County Public Schools announced Wednesday.
The Dual in the Schools (DITS) program allows high school students to earn college credits during the regular school day. Interim superintendent Shawn Joseph said he believes DITS will promote equity and readiness as Prince George's County leadership looks to bring more higher education and employment opportunities to its students.
