BALTIMORE —
Baltimore City Public Schools kicked off the holiday season Wednesday with a lighthearted and feathery tradition, the CEO's official Turkey Pardon!
The annual celebration brings students, staff and a turkey from Great Kids Farm together for a joyful moment of gratitude and good humor ahead of Thanksgiving. Inspired by the White House tradition, the turkey pardon offers students a fun way to learn about kindness, compassion, and gratitude — all wrapped in festive flair, the district said.
Wednesday's event at William Paca Elementary School brought together students dressed in their finest turkey hats and the kindergartners who even performed a song for the pardoned turkey, which they named Tom.
