NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. —

A 20-year-old man was arrested after allegedly firing a gun at "at least one car" Tuesday afternoon in Sacramento County, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies responded to a report of a man shooting at vehicles around 3 p.m. near Madison Avenue and College Oak Drive, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said. Witnesses told deputies the man fled on foot after firing at a vehicle.

A K9 and sheriff’s helicopter assisted in the investigation and deputies found the suspected shooter running near an apartment complex. They took him into custody after a brief struggle.
