The Auditor General’s report into the Dynalife testing fiasco is devastating for the UCP government.

This was a scandalous mess from beginning to end, with terrible planning, ignored guidelines, denial of evidence, and, finally, complete failure.

This privatization of community lab testing was supposed to save money.

Instead, it wasted $125 million with no benefit to the public.

This mattered most in Calgary, where wait times for simple blood or urine tests skyrocketed as testing passed from Alberta Precision Labs to private Dynalife.

“By February 2023, wait times for community laboratory tests had increased from a few days to five weeks,” says Auditor General Doug Wylie’s long-delayed report.
