The police officer who helped comfort the father of missing chef Claudia Lawrence has avoided jail after admitting possessing indecent images of children.

Disgraced officer Paul Beckwith , 53, admitted three counts of having indecent images of children and five counts of voyeurism. He was suspended from duty after being arrested last November, having served with North Yorkshire Police for 33 years.
