RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The City of Reno is installing new rapid flashing pedestrian beacons at high traffic pedestrian crossings.
The beacons were funded by a $100,000 grant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety Office of Traffic Safety.
The beacons will be installed strategically across all six wards at locations identified through a data-driven review. The city says the beacons have been proven to increase driver yielding rates.
No further details about the locations of the beacons was provided.
