BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - Bettendorf will move ahead with a new police station after nearly three‑quarters of voters backed the plan on Nov. 4.

The City Council voted Nov. 18 to let Bray Architects finish the design alongside Estes Construction and city staff. Design work runs into spring 2026, with the first bonds targeted for February; total borrowing and the guaranteed maximum price are capped at $27 million.

Bidding is expected by September 2026, construction could begin in fall 2026, and wrap up by late 2027, weather permitting.

The centrally located facility is planned to add modern training areas, secure spaces for staff and equipment, better evidence storage, and a community room, with budget checkpoints throughout.
