ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The mother of Bre’yeon Wells was charged less than a month after her son’s death.

On Oct. 27, around 10:40 p.m., officers received a call for help in the 4900 block of Thekla. Shortly after, they received a call for an unresponsive 2-year-old in the area of Interstate 70 and St. Louis Avenue. The toddler, Bre’yeon Wells, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Days after the death, Nicco Cotton, 21, turned himself in to the police . He was later charged with second-degree murder, first-degree forcible sodomy, statutory sodomy of a person less than 12 years old and abuse of a child resulting in death.
