A gang posing as central government officers allegedly intercepted an ATM cash-loading van and fled with more than Rs 7 crore on Wednesday, according to police. The incident occurred near the Ashoka Pillar when the vehicle was transporting cash to the HDFC bank branch in JP Nagar.

The van belonged to CMS Logistics. A police officer told The Indian Express that the gang posed as officials from the Income Tax Department and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and ordered the van to stop, saying they needed to verify the documents for carrying such huge cash without permission.
