Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe has returned from a brief trade mission to the United States, where he met with high ranking officials from U.S. President Donald Trump's administration.

Moe said he held meetings with U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer, Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.

All of the discussions were focused on how best to restart trade talks between Canada and the United States, Moe said.

"We're there to advocate specifically on behalf of Saskatchewan, but ensure that we are supportive and doing things that are supportive of getting, in this case, restarting negotiations between Canada and the United States," Moe told reporters at a news conference on Wednesday.
