KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Two Rivers Public Health Department announced three community members have now died due to is complications related to COVID-19 during the 2025-2026 respiratory season.
The health department announced the first death on Friday and now less than a week later, two more people have died.
The individuals were residents in the health district’s seven-county coverage area.
That area covers Buffalo, Dawson, Franklin, Gosper, Harlan, Kearney and Phelps counties.
“Our sympathies go out to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time,” TRPHD said.
TRPHD is closely monitoring all respiratory infections, including influenza and RSV.
The health department continues to stress precautions that need to be taken during the current respiratory season:
