MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) - The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction is honoring eight schools across the state, including several in our area.

These schools are being recognized for their exceptional academic performance and in closing the gap to ensure all students succeed.

The recognition comes after the U.S. Department of Education recently ended its long-standing National Blue-Ribbon Schools Program.

The local schools celebrated as Wisconsin’s 2025 honorees include Shiocton Elementary, T.J. Walker Middle School in Sturgeon Bay, Crivitz High School, and Forest Lane Community School in Montello.

The DPI plans to continue a state-level recognition program in the future.
