The founder of one of Scotland’s most iconic beers has thrown his support behind calls for pubs to receive special permission to show Scotland’s 2026 World Cup matches late into the night. ‌

Dougal Gunn Sharp, founder and Master Brewer at Edinburgh -based Innis & Gunn, said the big moment in Scottish football history was "meant to be shared" as he urged those in power to extend opening hours. ‌

It comes as Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader Alex Cole Hamilton called for pubs to get special dispensation to show Tartan Army matches that are scheduled late at night next summer in the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday. ‌
