LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A mother and her son were charged with multiple felonies after Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) ended a “major stolen car ring” on Tuesday.
During a live interview Tuesday on WHAS11, LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey said five vehicles were also recovered as part of the Sixth Division’s investigation.
Police later identified the suspects as Marc Hernandez, 18, and Crystal Meredith, 43.
According to an arrest citation, Hernandez and at least three other co-defendants stole multiple vehicles from multiple victims between Nov. 9 and Nov. 17.
At least one of the vehicles was taken from a woman’s home in another county, police said.
Detectives learned throughout the investigation that Hernandez would often take the vehicles to his mother’s home.
