Three more jurors were seated on Wednesday, bringing the total number to 12 for the murder trial of Brian Walshe , the Massachusetts man charged with killing and dismembering his wife, Ana Walshe, who disappeared on New Year’s Day 2023.

Judge Diane Freniere, who is overseeing the trial, originally planned to seat 16 jurors. At the end of court on Wednesday, the judge raised the prospect of empaneling more than 16 jurors for the trial. She said she would hear from the defense and prosecution about that on Thursday morning.

Nine jurors were seated on Tuesday, the first day of the trial, and Walshe, 50, made an unexpected decision to plead guilty to two counts.
