Mountain View Middle School in Goffstown will hold an internet safety assembly Friday following an incident last month in which several students created explicit deepfake images of their classmates.
The presentation to seventh- and eighth-grade students seeks to highlight “dangers, ethical concerns, and legal consequences” of misusing AI.
The October incident involving deepfakes prompted parents to ask the Goffstown School District to acknowledge the harassment and hold an assembly educating students on AI-assisted bullying.
Middle School Principal Jessica Milligan didn’t mention the recent incident in a Monday evening email to parents, but she affirmed the school’s commitment to student safety.
Milligan said the presentation will help students “navigate the online world responsibly
