AGAWAM – A tattoo shop that moved this year to Agawam is a place “where art meets passion,” its owner says.
“We were artists before we’re tattooers,” said Yayo Rivera, owner of Bold Anatomy Ink.
While many people have the same tattoos, Rivera said he and the artists who work in the space at 297 Springfield St. aspire to make tattooing different – and more customized.
“We represent 413,” said Joel “Elgoldoquetatua” Ortiz, a 15-year tattoo industry veteran and artistic mentor of the group. “We started in Springfield. We represent our place and the Latino people.”
Working alongside Rivera and Ortiz is Rich Ruiz, who says he likes to “let the art talk” and that personalized art is “what represents us.”
The group has competed in multiple tattoo competitions, such as Tommy’s Tat Convention
