NORFOLK, Va. — The holidays can be especially difficult for families facing sudden hardship. This year, 13News Now is partnering with the Salvation Army Angel Tree program to help make the season a little brighter for those who need it most.
The program is helping Kenya Hodges, a resilient mother working to rebuild stability for her children after a series of life-changing challenges.
Hodges said everything unraveled quickly after the father of her two youngest children caused her to lose both a good job and the apartment she worked hard to maintain. She was pregnant with her third child when it happened.
“I was getting ready to have my third child, and it all was taken away in the blink of an eye,” she said.
