With M&O secure, next step to focus on expected district growth up north
With the maintenance and operations override secure in Deer Valley Unified School District for the next few years, it’s time now to focus on changes coming down the road.
That was the message Superintendent Curtis Finch shared at Tuesday night’s governing board meeting, the first such meeting since Election Night on Nov. 4 secured the vote in a close call. By an unofficial margin of just 1,512 votes out of more than 50,000 cast , the district’s electorate said to continue the existing 15% M&O budget override, which provides for the district’s operating resources, including staff salaries.
