Warwick University has released a statement to students following a fire that engulfed an accommodation block, prompting a major emergency response on Wednesday evening, November 19.
The Arthur Vick 1 halls of residence caught fire late in the evening, with the university confirming the blaze has since been extinguished and no injuries were reported.
Video footage circulating on social media captured the accommodation building ablaze as students gathered outside observing the unfolding incident. Residents were evacuated from the block as flames took hold.
West Midlands Fire Service confirmed eight fire crews and emergency services rushed to the scene.
