COLUMBIA, S.C. — If you've stepped outside lately, you may have noticed it feeling warm. The Midlands will continue seeing a wave of spring-like warmth well into the weekend and early next week. Temperatures are 10-15 above normal for the month of November.

These warmer temperatures will continue for the next several days with highs staying in the upper 70s and low 80s. Only gradual cooling into the mid 70s is expected by early next week.

The warm air has become trapped across the Southeast due to a stalled front stretching from northern Arkansas into North Carolina. The Midlands are on the warm side of the frontal boundary.

Clouds will increase overnight Wednesday, leading to a partly to mostly cloudy start Thursday morning. Low temperatures Thursday morning will be in the upper 40s.
